The creation of Plastiss in the 60's was a response to the increasing demand of synthetic leather in Tunisia as well as in the broader Maghreb. The fondator, Abdelhamid Jeguirim; seized up the opportunity and decided to set up Plastiss in Sayada, his hometown, in the region of Monastir. As soon as 1972, he invests in the workforce and equips the new production plan of Sayada. Since then, an informatised commercial structure has been set up at the head office in Tunis. As the market shares increase, more performant machines are installed: looms, enduction line; printers, embossing machine reinforcing our manufacture and our production capacities. In 1997, Plastiss undertakes an important improvement program to guarantee its competitivity at the national and international levels. In 1999, Plastiss receives the ISO 9002 certification. During 2011, Plastiss is investing in the machinery in order to improve the productivity and range of products.
